As most of you probably know by now, the final track on the new Foot Village album 'Anti-Magic' was made by collaging together dozens of bands covering Foot Village. So many bands in fact that the cd, vinyl, cassette, and iTunes versions of the albums all are different collages with totally different bands on them! But on 'Anti-Magic' you only get to hear a small part of each cover. So we have been working on putting all the covers online in their complete form. Cristopher Cichocki's (director of the Kevin Shields music videoupcoming Foot Village music video) solo exhibition, Desert Abyss will open 7:00 on Friday at The Walter N. Marks Center for the Arts in Palm Desert, CA. Cichocki brings together hybrid forms of painting, photography, sculpture, video and sound in this multi-sensory installation environment. Desert Abyss will remain open until Oct. 22nd, so if you happen to be in the Coachella Valley stop by and experience the show.

Performances by Rumspringa and Halloween Swim Team will take place in the gallery courtyard on opening night.

2. Any 1.44mb floppy disc fans?

Ages ago, in the early 00s, Jonathan Snipes of Captain Ahab and Bill Hutson of Rale ran a label called 1.44MB that only put out releases on 1.44MB floppy discs. The overstock from this label was given to me. I have a few copies of the Cock ESP disc, the Stefan Koopmanschap disc, and the Tirridiliu disc. Unfortunatly, I don't have a floppy disc drive to even test if the discs are still in working condition. SO, if you would like one, I can send it for free to you with a purchase of any other item in the distro. Or, if you really want to take the risk of buying one even though I can't guarentee them, I can sell for dirt cheap. Message me.

3. Captain Ahab 'End of Irony' update

Those of you just dieing for Captain Ahab's 3rd full length, 'The End of Irony', to come out will be happy to know that not only has a track listing for both the vinyl and cd versions of the album been presented to me, but also the photo shoot for the album cover is happening TONITE. 4. Deathbomb HQ
-------------------------------
For a while I was doing a Deathbomb HQ segment in each newsletter, giving some info about stuff that keeps things exciting here (from watching tons of Roseanne to reading DC comics daily). Thought I'd give it a shot again. Although beware, my habits are stupid and discouraging. For instance, all I listen to lately are early 90s rock ballads. My favorite currently is Meatloaf's "I Would Do Anything For Love" and my 2nd favorite is Bryan Adams' "(Everything I Do) I Do It For You". I guess this part of my taste comes out in Foot Village songs like "National Jamthum" and "Erecting the Wall of Separation", but for the most part has been a bit hidden.
